How Important Is The Antistatic Property Of Artificial Turf?

As people attach importance to the environmental protection, sports comfort and high simulation performance of artificial turf, the production process and product performance of artificial turf are constantly updated and improved with the change of demand. In the dry season, the grass is easy to generate static electricity in the process of friction with objects and air, which is likely to cause static electricity burns to athletes.
Electrostatic burns are different from ordinary physical injuries. Physical injuries usually only cause skin damage to the contact parts to varying degrees, while electrostatic burns also cause damage to the non-contact parts of the body. Nowadays, artificial lawns are increasingly used in football fields, sports parks, primary and secondary schools, kindergarten playgrounds and other sports venues. The artificial lawn without anti-static performance is easy to bring potential safety hazards to people. Therefore, the antistatic property of artificial turf has become an important safety index to judge the quality of artificial turf.
In order to achieve the antistatic performance of artificial turf, the most common method is to add antistatic chemical additives in the production process of straw silk, endow the surface of straw silk with certain hydrophilicity, hygroscopicity and conductive ions, conduct electricity through moisture absorption, or neutralize positive and negative charges, or establish a channel to let the lone pair of electrons flow away. Although the generation of static electricity has been alleviated to a certain extent by adding antistatic additives, it has not been completely eliminated. Therefore, many mature artificial turf manufacturers will solve the problem that traditional artificial turf is easy to generate static electricity in special environments and climates by changing the innovative technical design of the straw silk structure.
